Serveral years ago God called Craig and Lisa Gilbert to plant East Hills Community Church and it was then that Craig said he wanted to be a church that planted churches. We began serving at East Hills the second Sunday they opened their doors and in 2004 I left the grocery industry after 38 years to go on staff full time as the associate pastor. After serving there 12 years God spoke to Cathy and I to be church planters. We believed without a doubt God was calling us to step out in faith and GO, and that this was God’s plan for our lives.
We began to seek God on where He would have us plant and He made it clear it was to be in the the Victoria Grove/Lake Mathews/Lake Hills area, just about 14 miles from where we live in Riverside. So, in 2009 Lake Mathews Elementary School became home to New Day Christian Fellowship. (Starting September 4th we will meet at 5901 Chicago Ave. On Sundays in the 7Day Baptist Church @ 9:30am) Come Join Us This Sunday
Cathy and I have been married for 29 years and God has done and continues to do great things in our marriage. Cathy worked full time as an Executive Secretary at Loma Linda Behavioral Medicine Center for 17 years and just this year retired to go on staff full time. We have learned a lot about what Jesus wants in a marriage and we hope our relationship reflects Gods work for His glory. We believe marriages are under attack in today’s society and there is nothing more we want than to see strong marriages leading to healthy families and a strong body of Christ.
Cathy and I are empty nesters but between the two of us we have 4 children. We have 3 son's and 1 daughter. They are all married with children. We are blessed to have 8 granddaughters and 4 grandsons ... We couldn't be happier! Two identical twin girls, Charlie and Reese born on August 24, 2016gives us 11 grandchildren!! One more on the Way January 2017(now here Logan). We now have added one more, a precious little boy named Logan!
This now gives an even dozen! WOW!
